If you are a long-term reader of this newsletter, you’ll recognize this concept, but for those who are new to the community, let me explain the notion of Spiritual Grooming. Spiritual Grooming means using Spirit, much as you would a bar of soap or a toothbrush, to make yourself shiny and clean before heading out into the world each day. Most of us would not dream of going days or weeks without bathing: our bodies would stink (and itch!) and others would find us repellent and give us a wide berth.
The same is true with Spiritual Grooming: make it a daily habit to connect to your guides, meditate, and be as much as possible in the Present Moment. The more we are balanced, centered and connected to our own divine power, the better company we are. I encourage you to examine your spiritual grooming practices, and if they are not up to snuff, see where you might make small adjustments. If you do, I’m pretty sure you’ll find that life runs much more smoothly for you.
In addition to our daily ablutions, most of us seek the help of a professional to do the kind of long-term grooming we can’t so ourselves, like cutting our hair. When I leave a salon, I walk out straighter, taller, feeling more confident, beautiful, and striding forth in my Power. The same is true when I get a consultation of my Akashic Records. Sure, I do it for myself all the time (and so do you, though you may not know it); but just like I do my hair every day, it’s just not the same as getting my hair styled for me.
I was lucky enough to get in with my mentor, Jen, after a few months. Wow! I always love checking in, seeing how I’m doing on my Path, and where I could think about making adjustments. We talked about my new home, how to best support the various members of my family, how to best support my body, and also about my business. It’s always so validating and eye-opening at the same time.
