I’m so excited to be there, especially because, if you know me at all, you know that women’s worth is something that I have spent my life exploring, promoting, and empowering.

As a scholar and professor of French/Francophone literature and cinema and Women’s Studies, this was the central focus of my scholarly research, and therefore also of many of the classes I taught. As someone who often had to look for her own sense of worth, I was attracted to novels and films where this was explored. Do I need to say that these were authored by women?

My book on Violette Leduc, The Pleasures of the Text: Violette Leduc and Reader Seduction was all about the different strategies Leduc employed to seduce her readers. Ultimately, of course, seduction is all about worth: “If they love me, I must be worth something.”

At the same time, as a professor and department chair, I worked to make sure that my students and colleagues knew their own worth. In a field like Modern Languages, most students and professors were women, so sticking to my unspoken mission was a piece of cake.

So, tomorrow I’m going to be talking with Kiva about using your Akashic Records to really tap into your worth. You see, when I channel information for you from your Record, I can see the Divine You. And you’d better believe that you’re pretty glorious when you’re not encumbered by all your human fears and foibles!
